2020, what a year! With a majority of time spent indoors, what with Circuit Breaker and mandatory working from home, it’s no surprise that more time was spent online scouring renovation inspiration, and where better to get your interior design fix than Instagram.

We welcome in 2021 with a look back on your favourites, scroll down for our top 10 ‘liked’ home designs of 2020.

1) Kopi C by Rooot Studio

As much as we love the contrasting use of wood in this design, the star of the show has to be the customised U-shape TV console that doubles up as a storage bench, wrapping around the half wall into the dining area for extra seating. Knocking through walls to create one larger collective space has created a light, bright, airy feel that we love.

2) Clementi 440C by KDOT

We’re all for smart, multi-use spaces here at Home by Hitcheed, and clearly so are you, as this design by KDOT Associate was one of your favourites. A study space with a hidden murphy bed takes this minimal space from office to guest room in one easy step. We also love the neutral tones and natural lighting that give this room a calm, zen-like feel.

3) Angsana Breeze by Posh Living

Most interior design solutions in Singapore are about making small spaces bigger, but this popular renovation makes a larger space more intimate. By installing a platform behind the sofa it divides the living room in two; a cosy central living space with a separate nook behind, creating designated areas without losing any natural light.

4) 591A Ang Mo Kio by Ju Design Studio

Loved for its simple aesthetic, this Singaporean home has taken a twist on the classic Scandinavian design. Dividing the room with a panel of light wood accentuates the space and adds warmth to an otherwise white colour palette. A room I think we can all agree evokes a sense of peace and tranquility.

5) Havelock by Free Space Intent

This renovation heroes natural elements. Opening up the space has created a light, bright, open feel that really allows the styling to shine. An eclectic collection of organic textures: wood, marble and brick, come together seamlessly to form a cohesive space with personality.

6) 322 Ang Mo Kio by Happe Design Atelier

Monochrome, when done right, is a timeless interior design choice. This popular Singapore home oozes luxe hotel vibes with its black highlights against white walls and its complementing monochrome styling pieces.

7) Veerasamy Road by Dots N Tots

This otherwise classic white kitchen is brought to life with its choice of tiles. A timeless subway tile backsplash paired beautifully with ornate peranakan floor tiles. The industrial style lights and wooden bar tools add warmth and character to the room, each element complementing the other harmoniously.

8) 362C Sembawang Crescent by Meter Square

It’s no surprise that this design was in our top ten, there’s something about this renovation that really soothes the soul. Its neutral colour palette, herringbone feature wall and built-in storage solutions, create a sense of harmony in this Singapore home.

9) 312A Clementi by Lemonfridge Studio

Wood takes centre stage in this renovation, from the floors, to the floor to ceiling custom storage unit, to the beautiful ceiling fan. The marble feature wall compliments the wooden elements perfectly to create a calm, neat home that we adore.

10) Elias Road by Aart Boxx

Embracing its large floor plan, this renovation breaks up white walls with stylish black accents - a nod to Singapore’s infamous colonial architecture. We love the addition of accordion balcony doors that open up fully, creating even more space and making the most of the accessible natural light.
